Under this agreement, Equinix data centres will benefit from the energy autonomy of the world\u2019s first breed and burn nuclear reactor, enabling sustainable and decarbonized   artificial intelligence capabilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A response to the alarming forecast for future energy demand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/reports\/electricity-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a report by the International Energy Agency<\/a>, global electricity consumption is expected to grow by 4% per year by 2027 \u2014 the fastest pace seen in recent years. This surge in results is from a combination of factors: unprecedented electrification, the expansion of data centres to support the development of artificial intelligence, and a rebound in industrial production. This growing demand is likely to put pressure on energy suppliers to produce sufficient electricity and is already straining ageing grids responsible for its distribution. To meet this demand and sustain growth, the global energy network will need to rely on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/offre\/\">new sources of power.<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A pre-order agreement for 500 MW of power<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement between Stellaria and Equinix is part of several Equinix initiatives in the field of alternative energy. In August, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/investor.equinix.com\/news-events\/press-releases\/detail\/1079\/equinix-collaborates-with-leading-alternative-energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced collaborations<\/a> with five energy providers, including Stellaria in France, to support the growth of its AI-Ready data centers. Thus, Equinix has secured the first power capacity reservation on the Stellarium, the reactor that Stellaria plans to deploy starting in 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stellarium's offering for Equinix data centres<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By signing this pre-order agreement, Stellaria, through its renewable fuel reactor Stellarium, will provide Equinix's AI-Ready data centres with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/solution\/\">carbon free<\/a> and controllable energy solution for fully energy autonomous Equinix\u2019s data centre operations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced safety, with no exclusion zone required thanks to its underground design, atmospheric-pressure operation, and liquid core;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rapid adaptation to load variations: the liquid core makes the reactor extremely flexible and able to adjust to the required power at any time;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fuel regeneration, through its infinite reuse, partly derived from waste from current nuclear plants;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/ressources-2\/\">increased sustainability<\/a>, enabled by its multi-fuel supply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote
