And for the first time, innovative nuclear has a place of its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For one year, the French State, through the French Tech Mission, will support Stellaria in developing Alvin, its experimental prototype reactor. This recognition confirms that next-generation nuclear ranks among the breakthrough technologies seen as decisive for France\u2019s energy sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"french-tech-2030-le-programme-de-l\u00e9tat-pour-les-champions-des-technologies-de-rupture\">French Tech 2030: the State programme for breakthrough technology champions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Run by the French Tech Mission, French Tech 2030 targets start-ups and scale-ups whose innovations are built on scientific advances likely to lead to industrial applications. Its goal is to help industrialise these technologies and strengthen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemondeinformatique.fr\/actualites\/lire-french-tech-2030-devoile-sa-nouvelle-promotion-de-80-start-up-100855.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">France\u2019s technological sovereignty.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2026 cohort is the programme\u2019s third, after those of 2023 and 2025. <a href=\"https:\/\/lafrenchtech.gouv.fr\/fr\/programme\/french-tech-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Its 80 laureates <\/a>span eight strategic sectors, including space (13 companies), AI, semiconductors and health (11 each). Together, they have filed 842 patents and invested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frenchweb.fr\/french-tech-2030-derriere-les-80-laureats-la-carte-des-ambitions-industrielles-francaises\/463972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u20ac211 million in R&amp;D in 2025.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, home to Stellaria, has 14 laureates, making it the second-largest hub in France after \u00cele-de-France. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economie.gouv.fr\/actualites\/une-deuxieme-promotion-french-tech-2030-pour-faire-emerger-des-champions-dans-les-technologies-de-rupture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Previous cohorts<\/a> helped companies such as Mistral AI and Alice &amp; Bob emerge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ce-quimplique-laccompagnement-french-tech-2030\">What French Tech 2030 support involves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Becoming a French Tech 2030 laureate is more than a label: it means a year of tailored and collective support from the French Tech Mission and its partners. In practice, it rests on four pillars:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dedicated follow-up<\/strong> : within the French Tech Mission, start-up managers oversee a portfolio of laureates and coordinate more than 250 follow-up actions every month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easier access to government services<\/strong> the \u201cFrench Tech Correspondents\u201d network, present in more than 60 government bodies and public services, helps remove regulatory and administrative roadblocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Visibility in France and abroad<\/strong> : events, media exposure and participation in international delegations, alongside Bpifrance, Business France and French Tech communities in 52 countries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A peer community:<\/strong> laureates join the French Tech Next40\/120 ecosystem, to connect with other founders and share experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme thus gives young deeptech companies the same support as the 120 champions of French tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pourquoi-cette-s\u00e9lection-est-strat\u00e9gique-pour-stellaria\">Why this selection is strategic for Stellaria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The recognition comes at a pivotal moment: Stellaria is entering the most demanding phase of its project, building its Alvin prototype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/lettre-d-intention-inb-alpha-stellaria\/\">Alvin<\/a> the first building block of the Stellarium.<\/strong> This 100 kW experimental reactor, with a core measuring 50 cm, is designed to validate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/solution\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/solution\/\">Stellarium concept<\/a>a Generation IV molten salt reactor able to regenerate its own fuel. Start-up is planned for 2030, ahead of the 10 MWe MegAlvin prototype and a first commercial reactor in 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>State backing where nuclear needs it most.<\/strong> A nuclear project moves at the pace of regulation, public partnerships and site access. Direct access to government bodies through the French Tech Correspondents is a tangible asset for securing Alvin\u2019s timeline, especially at the CEA\u2019s Cadarache site, where Stellaria is studying where to build its facilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"les-portes-que-french-tech-2030-peut-ouvrir-\u00e0-stellaria\">The doors French Tech 2030 can open for Stellaria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond the 12-month support, the programme creates lasting opportunities for a nuclear deeptech company:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Investors and funding:<\/strong> the label boosts credibility with funds and public financiers. The 2025 laureates had raised \u20ac1.1 billion, and 51 of them received \u20ac383 million in support from France 2030.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industrial customers:<\/strong> data centres, heavy industry and industrial zones are looking for low-carbon, dispatchable energy. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/accord-de-precommande-equinix\/\">Equinix partnership <\/a>and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellaria.fr\/en\/hub-energetique-integre-fos-sur-mer\/\">energy hub project in Fos-sur-Mer<\/a> are the first milestones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deeptech ecosystem:<\/strong> the French Tech 2030 and Next40\/120 community brings Stellaria closer to companies in AI, materials and semiconductors, sectors that are both technology partners and future energy consumers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International reach:<\/strong> official delegations and the French Tech network in 52 countries showcase France\u2019s innovative nuclear industry amid global competition in SMRs and AMRs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Talents<\/strong> : the programme\u2019s visibility helps attract the engineers and researchers a reactor project needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous cohorts show the way: several former laureates went on to join the French Tech Next40 or French Tech 120.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"innover-reste-avant-tout-un-travail-d\u00e9quipe\">\u201cInnovation is above all a team effort\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicolas Breyton, co-founder and President of Stellaria, welcomes the selection:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201dHaving our application selected by the French Tech delegation is a great opportunity to strengthen our ties with France\u2019s breakthrough technology ecosystem and to keep growing.
